Church World Service

Throughout the month of September, the Membership and Outreach
Committee will be collection monetary donations for Church World
Service (CWS). In America and around the world, your donation will
help impoverished areas with basic needs and tools that will help them
to sustain themselves and their families. During disasters, people often
need blankets and much more. With our help Church World Service can
be there for the long haul as families recover from disaster.

You will find envelopes for your donations on the table in the Narthex or
you may add your donation to your weekly offering envelope and
indicate CWS and the amount on the “other” line. If everything works as
planned Maddie, Jacob and Billy will pull the wagon through the aisles
on September 11th to gather your donations. Thank you.

Adult Sunday School is at 9:30am on Sundays

with Mike Beamish facilitating the discussions in the cafe.

Worship time will begin at 10:30am.

Church Picnic

St. John’s Annual Church Picnic will be held at the Troy Community Park on September 24th beginning at 3:00pm. If you want to play in the cornhole tournament, please arrive at 2:30pm. We will also be playing Bingo. Please bring new or gently used items as prizes. Also, please bring lawn chairs, your own table service, and a covered dish to share. Harvest Home Celebration

This year’s Harvest Home Celebration is scheduled for Sunday, September 25. The church will be decorated with a display of the bounty that is ours, both literally and figuratively. Feel free to wear your gardening/farming clothes. Following the morning worship service, the Ministry and Worship Committee invites you for lunch in Fellowship Hall. The menu will include brats and hot dogs, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, dessert, and beverages. Table service will be provided. The St. John’s History Committee will also be sharing some of the treasures they have discovered in our archives.

Neighbors in Need

Your gifts may be included in the special Neighbors in Need envelopes you will find in the Narthex, or you may indicate your gift onthe fourth line of your regular giving envelope.
