Trick or Treat and Eat: Saturday October 29th from 11:30 to 1:00 pm.

The Gathering Place, Christian Education, and the membership and Outreach Committee will be teaming up to host children and families in the community as part of Troy’s annual Hometown Halloween. Besides giving out candy and treats to the children, we will be serving a meal, and offering some special crafts and activities for everyone to enjoy. As part of our outreach to the neighborhood, there will be both indoor and outdoor activities, in the Fellowship Hall (basement) of the church, and also at the Gathering Place. If you’d like to
volunteer with planning or helping out that day, speak to Betty Schaffner, Lori Radimacher or Ashley Reed. We’d love to have you join us.

Arts and Crafts at The Gathering Place: This fall and winter.

As a result of receiving a $2000 grant from the Miami County Foundation, we will offering some arts and crafts workshops for children, families and adults, beginning later this fall. We’ve heard suggestions for macramé, sign painting, Celtic drawing and touch painting. Do you have suggestions, for either a craft you’d like to see offered, or perhaps a teacher who would be interested in offering a workshop? Talk to Mary Ann Crist if you’re interested in participating.

Do you have other ideas for events at The Gathering Place? How about a book club, games, music night, a video and discussion event? We’re looking for new ways to come together for fun and learning so help us make it happen. Thanks to everyone for your continuing support and interest.
