A Message from Our Council President

Happy New Year! Even though we are a few weeks into the new church year, we are just tearing off the last page of our 2021 calendars and looking forward to a new set of twelve months. This is the time many of us write resolutions one more time, vowing that this is the year we really will become more charitable, volunteer for a non-profit organization, exercise regularly, or lose those extra pounds. I am a charter member of the I-wrote-them-but-I-can’t-keep-them club, but I admire those of you who are able to achieve your goals.

As we are looking to the New Year, I suggest that all of us include St. John’s in our plans and find one or a couple ways to enrich our Beloved Community. As we continue to “do church,” more opportunities for involvement present themselves. It behooves us to be aware of what else we can do.

On a personal note, I would once more like to thank all of you for being open to a St. John’s Christmas Season that was different from that of years past. A special thank-you to Jorian Johnson, Mark Condy, and Sandy Ehrlich who provided outstanding music in my absence.

Mike and I have enjoyed every minute of our time here in Switzerland. And we have new appreciation for Psalm 121: I lift my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the maker of Heaven and earth.

Blessings to all of you!
Ginny Beamish, Council President
