Family Craft Day

As part of our outreach to the larger community, the Christian Education Team will be
sponsoring a Family Craft Day on Saturday, November 13th from 10-11:30 a.m. in the
Fellowship Hall. We are in need of helpers to welcome the families and to work with the
children. The Thanksgiving-themed crafts will be simple (no experience necessary), and
it will be a good way to get to know some of the younger families in the area. Please talk
to Lori or Sarah, or call the church office, if you’re interested in being a part of this fun
event

Free Concert

The Heidelberg University Concert Choir will be performing a concert for all to enjoy on Sunday, March 26, at 3:00 P.M. at First United Methodist Church, 110 W. Franklin Street here in Troy. This choir has long had a reputation of presenting fine music of many styles and musical periods. The Concert Choir will be joined by special guests, the Handbell Choir of Troy’s First United Methodist Church. Presented by the Troy Mayors’ Concerts organization, this concert offers an hour of some of the finest choral and bell music in the area.

He/she will be responsible for the development, coordination, and administration of the Christian Education programs, curriculum planning and special events. Grandparent Support Group

The Gathering Place is hosting a support group for grandparents raising grandchildren monthly on the 1st and 3rd Monday, 6:30-7:30p facilitated by Pastor Ann Marie Winters. To register, call Ann Marie at 330.469.6296.

Ladies Fellowship

Ladies Fellowship will be hosting a celebrate Spring luncheon on Saturday, May 20th at 12:00pm. There will be food, prizes and entertainment by the Troy High School Trojan Tones, an acapella choir. Please come and invite family, friends and neighbors. There will be a sign up sheet in the Narthex until May 14th. Come celebrate with us!

US-Mexico Border Trip

On Sunday April 30 at 4pm in The Gathering Place, come join Don and Mary Ann for some light snacks and beverages as we share slides of our trip to the US-Mexico border area. During two days in March, we accompanied Randy Mayer, pastor of a UCC church in Sahuarita Arizona and experienced first-hand the border wall, the towns which straddle both sides of it, an ecumenical mission which serves migrants seeking asylum, and the work of the Samaritans who provide food and water to immigrants crossing into the US through the desert.

We were inspired by all that we saw and heard from those who, in spite of political divisions, strong opinions and a very complex and messy immigration system, simply save lives. We’d love to share our pictures and stories with you.
