The Gathering Place Update – September 2021
Things have been hopping at The Gathering Place these past few weeks. The Trustees, Church Council, a small study group and the Women’s Fellowship held their meetings in the space and have discovered what a warm and welcoming setting it is for coming together for business, sharing and fun. The biggest and most popular event was the Women’s Fellowship, where 16 came together for food and to play games. Maddie and Jacob joined the women and I heard they had a good time playing games alongside the ladies.
We would love to encourage many more intergenerational activities and wonder if any of you are interested in helping with a crafts event for kids. Maybe rock painting, fall crafts, simple baking, or whatever talent you might share with them. I know how much the kids enjoy this kind of fun and, let’s face it, it’s fun for us adult type folks too.
And please remember to mark your calendars for the Holy Heartbeat Retreat which will be held on Saturday, October 9th from 9am-12pm. We are planning to dig into some spiritual practices that will help guide us in our work, church, and family lives. Anyone who would enjoy some conversation around faith, community service, and spiritual formation is invited. There will of course be good food too! 🙂 More details to come but in the meantime, feel free to email Sarah Porto if you would like additional information or to sign up.
If you are interested in using the space for a small group or just some informal get together, let Mary Ann know and we’ll get you on the calendar. Thanks to all who help keep the space beautiful and who use it with such love and care. If you have any questions or comments, please talk to one of our team members.
