This week the General Synod 33 of the UCC has been in full swing. Pastor Don has been participating and was touched and inspired by the keynote speaker, Valerie Kaur, who challenged the UCC to chart a path of revolutionary love. Read a summary of her keynote address. At the end of her talk, when Valerie was asked what needed to be done next, she said “It is time to do the thing we have not yet done…to build the Beloved Community right where you are.” An affirming message indeed, as we continue to engage in doing just that here at St. John’s.
